Should I Get A Home Inspection?
Many of you will ask, should my new home (or rental, duplex, townhouse, condo) be inspected before I move in? The short answer is: yes – the long answer is: Absolutely!
O.K. then WHY it should be inspected?
The short answer can come from your realtor, the seller’s disclosure and/or your own eyes and experience as you walk through your (perspective) new home. But, it takes a professional inspector to give you the long answer(s). That’s because so many potential problems can be hidden behind service panels, in attics, under homes, in garages, on roofs, etc.
When we talk about home inspections we almost always are referring to the prospective buyer of a home. This is the person (or people) that most commonly hire a home inspector. But it isn’t uncommon for the seller to get an inspection before their house goes on the market to address any major concerns that may have gone unnoticed.
